Resolutions for the Home

Resolutions for the Home

With the new year upon us, resolutions are in full force! Here are a few resolutions that you can apply to the home at any time…

Conserve Resources
Conserving resources is not as difficult as it sounds. Remind your family to turn off the lights when they leave the room, turn off the tap while they brush their teeth, and consider upgrading to solar panels (if you haven’t already). In addition, be sure to research the items that can be put in each of the city’s trash bins to ensure you’re recycling and disposing of your trash properly.

Create Peace of Mind
Home security doesn’t stop at doorbell cameras and motion-sensor lights. You should be consistently testing things like fire alarms and carbon dioxide alarms, as well as changing the batteries. You should also be sure to check the expiration date on home fire extinguishers, and clearing your dryer vents (not just the lint traps!) of lint. That being said, it might be time to upgrade to newer and better home-security equipment. If you can’t remember when you bought it, or if it was installed in the home long ago by a previous owner, it may be time to research something new.

Do you know what you’re breathing?
Polluted air is no joke, and even the inside of your home is not immune. Pollen, dust, and mold spores happily make their way indoors and often overstay their welcome. Investing in an air purifier can help you rest easy knowing your family is truly safe within the four-walls you’ve worked so hard to maintain.
