Finding Peace During the Pandemic

It’s no secret that everyone is a bit restless, but finding your inner peace and calm during this pandemic is necessary for keeping you sane. Now the big question… how?! Taking some simple steps to make the most of your time at home can have a bigger impact than you think.

Practicing “Self-Care”
“Self-Care” is a term that is thrown around a lot lately, and it can be easier to practice than you think. Meditating for a few minutes each morning, journaling in the afternoon, or enjoying the chapter of a book each night all fall under self-care. Even playing video games or binge-watching your favorite show can qualify. Self-care is about what fills your cup, makes you happy, and balances out the obligations of the day. Without it, you’re likely to feel stressed or overwhelmed, so carve out even a few extra minutes each day for yourself.

Reconnect with friends– old and new.
Take some time to reach out to friends you may not have heard from in a while. Although we cannot physically get together, there are still plenty of ways to deepen your relationships. Talking on the phone often, or even writing letters can create a feeling of enthusiasm in the fact that you have something to look forward to. Plus, the additional human connection will make your lack of feel like less of a strain.

Get outdoors
Fresh air (especially ocean air!) is good for you! Enjoying a walk or a picnic is an easy way to practice social distancing while still doing something fun and semi-normal. Plus, soaking up some Vitamin D never hurt anyone, and letting your kids run around somewhere that isn’t your living room won’t make life any harder either.
