Simple Mindfulness Exercises for Daily Life

With the new year comes new goals. Implementing small changes can make a big difference!

Just Breathe!

There is so much power in intentioned breathing. If you tend to get stressed or overwhelmed, take the time to practice a breathing exercise. Close your eyes and breathe slowly and deeply. Think about the air that’s passing into your lungs and out of your body. Envision positivity flowing in and destructive thoughts whooshing out.

Wake Up With A Purpose.

It can be easy to just float through your days, with little intention or thought to how you can affect your own experiences. But taking the time in the morning to check in with your own mental health can have a great impact on how present you are throughout your entire day. Next time you feel like you’re in a fog, start your days by setting at least one goal for the day. Having an intention and following through with it will make your productivity soar in all aspects.

“Trip” Over What You Want To Do.

Do you regularly promise yourself you’re going to do something “tomorrow” and just keep pushing it back? Stop giving yourself the choice. If you intend to do yoga in the morning, place your yoga mat the night before at your doorway, so you have to be confronted with it in the morning! Swear you’re going to stick to water this week? Get a large pitcher and fill it up with yummy fruits and mint,  and place that infused water at the front of your fridge so that it’s the first option you have!
