5 Things To Do At The Beach You Might Not Have Thought Of (for the entire family!)
As summer comes to an end, so does the occasional family day-trip to the beach (because who wants to go on the crowded weekends?)
Here are a few fun and new things to try this weekend that you might not have thought of, yet!
- Get a KITE!
Kite flying is a great activity that gets the whole family involved. There is no limit to the wonder the wind holds! Extra Tip: Get plain colored kites and let the kids color on them so each one is extra-unique! - Grab a board game.
Do you have a storage closet with game boxes that collect nothing but dust? Make sure it doesn’t have flimsy cards or papers that can blow away (We’re lookin’ at you, Yahtzee), and take it down to the sand. It’s a great way to stay involved but still relaxed after the wave-jumping subsides. - Two words: Water Guns.
If you have enough people, you could even divide into teams! Plus, running on the sand is an excellent workout. - Sand Tic Tac Toe
Take advantage of the sand around you and make a GIANT tic-tac-toe board! Make sure everyone gets creative with how they mark their spots…. try “no hands allowed” and watch everyone try to hop on one foot or use their elbows. The possibilities are endless! - Going with children who are too small to dive into the sea? Bring a small inflatable pool! Have the rest of the family help haul some seawater up in their sandcastle buckets to fill it up and ensure EVERYONE gets to enjoy the ocean!
We’re sure there are plenty of more ideas out there, but these in particular are a great way to end the summer before the kids head back to school. What are some of your favorite family-friendly beach activities?
